I saw a vintage photobooth that had a little window showing the inner mechanism for the flash and I wanted everyone to be able to see it because it's pretty neat!
It also had a small TV on top that played live footage of the photobooth strips being developed!
@Alice Cool! I must see this in person someday!
@JamesK It's at Gracie's Tax Lounge in Phoenix!
@Alice My list grows.
@Alice This is admittedly a long shot, but about a year ago you posted a photo of a tap lineup that included a whole snorg of Belgians. It was lit in blues, as I recall, not the typical beer bar look. There was a metric shit ton of stuff. You told me where it was , and I stupidly didn’t record it. Anyways, seeing this brought it to mind as I THINK that you named someplace in AZ. Ring any bells?
@JamesK Oh man. I’m pretty sure that was Angels Trumpet Ale House in Phoenix, but they recently closed. 😢
@Alice Argh! Thanks, though. You’re the best!
@JamesK Another place you should look into is The Silver Stamp in the Arts District in Las Vegas. The arts district actually has a lot of cool things so you can enjoy Vegas in a not-so Vegas way.
They also have this bar in The D on Fremont St called Bar Canada and they had La Fin du Monde on draft and they'd keep pouring it for free for as long as you were sitting at the bar playing video poker but I think they eventually realized how expensive that stuff is so they replaced it with Labatt's.
Speaking of casinos with good beer selections, the Peppermill in Reno has a back bar at a place called Biscotti's and the bartender stocks the fridge with stuff like La Fin du Monde, Delerium Tremens, Chimay, etc. and it's all free while playing video poker so I'll usually just play $20 worth of video poker and drink my fancy beer and then tip the guy a $20 because I feel so guilty about drinking his fancy beers but he genuinely loves it and he doesn't care because it's not coming out of his pocket.
@Alice This is great, Alice! Thanks for writing it up; it gives me an excuse to say yes when people start talking about a trip to Vegas. And while I’m not suffering any confusion about the difference between La Fin du Monde and Labatt’s, I do have fond memories of a trip up the Alaskan Highway in my youth when my older sister and I drank a barrel of Blue along the way, based solely on the recommendation of a waitress early on in the journey. She said it was what her husband drank.🙂
It was perfectly fine, other than having an aftertaste vaguely reminiscent of condom. Anyway, this could be a chance to relive some past!
@Alice Really needs Powerhouse playing over it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfDqR4fqIWE&t=86s

Here's our resulting photobooth strip.
Please don't let our awkward, tired, sweaty faces detract from the fact that the vintage photobooth is still doing a pretty great job so many years later.
