@scottjenson Great catch! I think I had a regression in the demo. Need to add some disambiguation between disabled and read-only too.
@Aaron How CSS style-able is it? I can imagine people wanting to go crazy with variations on this...
I built it to be very theme-able. There is simple theming via custom properties, but it's all in light DOM, so you have full access.

@Aaron This looks great. My only UX concern is with the disabled form. It has a highlight on one of the disabled options, which implies it is selected. And I assume if it's disabled neither one should be highlighted, e.g. a dead option shouldn't have a default value.
