Amazon adds a camera to its best-sounding smart speaker for $30 extra
The Echo Studio with Home Camera can "see and understand what's in front of the camera."

@arstechnica I remember an article from 2019 in Business Insider claiming that 10.000 (!) #Amazon engineers were working on #Alexa. It appears to me that Alexa has not gotten any smarter in the 7 years since then, despite all the progress in generative AI. You really have to wonder what those 10.000 engineers have been doing all that time. We really need a follow-up to this. https://www.businessinsider.com/what-amazons-10000-employees-working-on-alexa-are-doing-2019-1
@arstechnica wow they weren't even really trying to hide that this is more useful to them than their customers.
Who tf needs these "improvements"?
@arstechnica wow. "please spy on me".
