Can anyone recommend me an Android app where I can paste in a TOTP secret and get authentication codes back, and which does *nothing else*. Most solutions I find try to be a full password management situation, I just wanna generate TOTP codes on phone and preferably have them be in some sense encrypted at rest

@jschwart What sorts of J2ME devices do you use in practice in 2026?
@mcc I was given a Sony Ericsson J20i, along with a Z550i by a colleague who said he would otherwise bin them. They still works quite well and also accessories are very cheap nowadays. (Before that I had a Sony Ericsson J120i, but it does not support J2ME.)
When there is WiFi, I can use Opera Mini to read the news on the J20i. It's the most powerful phone I have, but most days I do not really use any mobile phone as I often use a computer already.

@allpurposemat Well, that would explain why the software is an incoherent mess that doesn't appear to be finished.
@mcc not been in the android space for a while, but I guess F-Droid (like Flathub…) decided not to display this anti-feature.
Seems to me like it'd be useful when deciding to download an app.

The best plain and simple, does export to JSON and encrypted JSON if you wanna move somewhere else or just manually sync on another device. Fully local.

Pros: don't need a proton account (but you can connect if you want), have a fdroid build, automatic local backup option (and import and export), I really like that it shows the next time interval code.
Cons: Now @protonprivacy sucks and it is getting worse and worse.
