Things to surprise or impress a dutch person you fancy, who is living in a different country, with:
- Pickwick tea
- Douwe Egberts roodmerk coffee
- Calvé Pindakaas
- Venz or De Ruijter Hagelslag
- Venco Munten/Honingdrop
- Hema Rookworst
- Jip en Janneke books or postcards
- Nijntje pillows or anything Nijntje, actually
- Zwartwit powder (don't ask what it is)
- Mustard or mayonnaise from Zaandam
- Conimex spices
And, maybe limited to a certain age bracket, just say "du pain, du vin" and wait for the excited "du Boursin!"

@mkoek Simple to make once you have pindakaas :) But you are right. I have added Conimex.
i caused my dutch coworkers lots of amusement when they found out that i really like venco licorice, the semi-salty ones. they didn't expect anyone in the US even knowing what they were.
got the habit from a supervisor who'd lived in nijmegan for years and always had them on her desk.

@mlouise Dubbelzout by Venco. Or Zoute Griotten. But they are an acquired taste, even among Dutchies. King or Wilhelmina peppermint is less controversial.
