Is there an alternative to Zencastr with a free tier that doesn't have that horrendous mess of an UI?
(At least it's comforting to know that proprietary software is at least as badly designed these days as Free/Open Source. Progress!)

@baldur I don't know if this would help for what you're doing. But I've used https://craig.chat/ for the last 6 years and it's dead simple and rock solid.
We use it in Discord, but they also have both a webapp and another app which doesn't need Discord: https://ecastr.com/ by the same developers.
@carl Ooh, looks interesting. I'll check it out. Thanks! 🙂
@baldur not as far as I can tell, annoyingly. surprised to get that much for the free tier really.
NEVER use Zencastr as your podcast host, I have multiple reports of utter incompetence. I use them for recording interviews and that's it.
@davidgerard @baldur I love how the latest episode of Well There's Your Problem starts with them talking about Zencastr adding AI and it's shit
@davidgerard Thanks. Suspected as much. And not surprised to hear their hosting is incompetent.
@baldur Briefly I used Squadcast https://squadcast.fm/ as it came with our Descrpt account, the free tier is 1 hour a month recording time (not much). UI maybe not much better, guests often confused.
