weird how much ai is like the "dark magic" trope from fantasy fiction.
forbidden magic! it's highly volatile and tricky to control, very chaotic, lots of unintended consequences, but can be very very powerful. but also it comes at great cost (personally and globally) and it was forged via forbidden evil techniques. maybe justified breaking the glass to use it for emergencies and extreme good (eg: finding cures for diseases maybe???), with extreme care, but you must promise to place it back into the crypt afterwards. and who knows what dark side-effects happen as consequence. and yeah maybe some people are forced to use it by their demon bosses, or perhaps some people have no choice to use it to make a living, and we dont feel bad towards those people, rather we pity them. we create sanctuaries where the dark magicks are not allowed. some people try to rip up the books, but its hard. the high demons Altman and Musk and Zuckerberg keep spreading the lands with their scourge

If it were more Pratchett-esque at least it would be funny
like u couldnt make this up
the dark wizards are placing cursed beacons (ai data centers) all around the land to spread the dark magick. it saps the lifeforce out of the surrounding nature to gather power. surrounding rivers, forests, habitats all die.
are we seriously in a fxckin tolkein book? or is it more terry pratchett-esque?
