Been looking for a CMS for a thing (you'll see) and it's kinda strange just how few CMSes actually support proper internationalization and multi-language sites.

@codebytom I am trying to move away from having more wordpress installs (partly due to the unreliability of its CEO/head and partly due to the AI shit everywhere).
@mauricerenck @getkirby I am but I am only considering Open Source CMSes
@tante Processwire is good for this, or also in general.
@tante Because it's difficult.
Do you want translations with fallback to a default language or do you want parallel sites. One seems easy but requires you to keep up. Two is difficult because you easily lose track. Drupal has i18n but was difficult to maintain. Today I'd probably just keep two different sites in sync.
@tante
Good old one: OpenCms
@tante I’ve waited 10 years for WordPress to implement first-class support for internationalization, and it doesn’t seem like it’s ever going to make the boy-dictator-for-life’s list.
