i've spent the last few weeks dealing with
1) a bunch of things that run in containers in kubernetes on virtual machines etc.
and
2) a bunch of the genAI output that is rapidly becoming impossible to avoid engaging with while doing my job.
(1/2 or so)
something i notice now is how the broad category of impulses that produced 1 used to be one of the chief sources of entropy / fuzz / slop in the stuff i deal with.
and it's not exactly that that's _changed_ - it's hard to convey how deliriously, maddeningly tangled and convoluted and unnecessarily difficult all of this has become, the ways that "best practices" have centered on the absurd - it's just that in a lot of ways it doesn't really seem to *matter* very much any more.
