Peak mobile device design!
A "personal mobile tool".
@neil I used to have one of these! Eventually swapped it for a Zaurus C-1000, which was easier to type on :)
@neil Sharp Zaurus SL-5500 my beloved (and you still have the screen protector!)
@neil every smart phone should have a slide out physical keyboard with actual buttons you push. I love this.
@neil I used one of these for several years; it was a great tool. I still have it, but the battery is pretty much dead now.
@neil I've got one, just missing the stylus
Spent my very first IBM bonus on one
@neil
I miss my 2004 flip phone with the tiny screen and no apps. Well except a little blackjack game.
@neil Mine's around somewhere. Sad, huh?
You want Wi-Fi? Here, pop this in!
@neil I think my first kernel patch was a fix to a PCMCIA driver. Though that was pre-git and a long time ago, so I could be mismembering.
@neil
I have no empty slots...
The Zaurus in action!
@neil Mine had one of those CF form factor hard drives that was spinning rust, not solid state. I wonder what its capacity was
@neil I have so many really cool phones in perfect working order, but unusable because they are not compatible with 4/5G. Such a shame.
@neil leave mobile phones behind, return to PDAs
At least one with a more modern device so you can do all the things you need today
@neil I've always found PDAs and handhelds so cool, but I never found a use for them in the way that calculators of that time are still useful to me as a tool (and of which I've somehow amassed a moderate collection)
@neil It's been many years since I even powered mine up!
@neil they're so much smaller these days!
@neil I was incredibly envious of the architecture company I did an apprenticeship for.
