This is happening to me, but with "tips" about a huge range of crypto-related issues (or perceived issues) people are personally struggling with. The volume is genuinely challenging to deal with.

It takes fairly little effort for a person to tell their AI bot to research and draft an email, but it takes the recipients real time to dig into these tips and separate hallucinations from tips that might actually have some basis. They're basically DDOSing journalists.

I've basically had to start ignoring tips that come in with clearly AI-written emails, even though I know I risk missing stuff. I just don't have the capacity.

@molly0xfff That's an "interesting trend": instead of the miracle time saving machine we've been promised, what we seem to get is that it's viciously draining energy -- both in the physical and human sense. Pompously verbose extruded text, obfuscated and hallucinated code reviews and "planning documents", unreviewable "mathematical proofs"... Future historians will probably assess that, compared to that, the impact of tv and cars has been a mere picnic.

@molly0xfff sorry this is happening to you. i didn't do this to you, but i do do this with customer support.

from my perspective, we're convinced that everyone else is using it, too, and must have some workflow set up for ingesting this stuff and discarding the crap.

but also, if i ever did write you with a tip, i would write it word-for-word, since i now know this is your preference. i would mention this in your newsletter so that at least someone has a chance to do better. until the etiquette coalesces on something
