Is it just me or does anyone else get nervous when you read a book and you know there are still pages left to go but you already want to know what’s going to happen?

@Mitsu stanisław lem wrote about this, that it's kind of bad that you KNOW when a story is going to end because the pages run out. he suggested to just keep going with the story for a bunch of more pages but somehow have a way to tell the reader that the real end happened 50 pages before. (i'd say with e-readers, the problem has reversed)
