A ballot given to USPS is still better than one left on a kitchen table! Don't let it go unvoted out of fear of mailing shenanigans.

I gave my ballot to literally my curbside mailbox, put the little flag up and everything. The King County ballot tracker showed it received and counted the very next afternoon.

FWIW, a ballot mailed "Air Mail" and "Registered" from Tokyo Japan (less than US$8.00), arrived 10 days later in New Haven, CT.

US citizens have the right to vote _in the place they last lived_ (in my case, the town I redid grad school in after growing up and then mucking up grad school in the Boston area), and every state has different rules and fine print on how to vote. It ain't easy, but it is possible.

@moira Sorry, it's me. I'm the low turnout. I have my incomplete ballot lying around because I've been too lazy to vote in all those judge's races.

Don't worry I'll make sure to put it in a drop box at the last minute on election day.
