Kafkaesque experience: i have gained 40 pounds in two months. Because my caloric intake has not changed, it's impossible via the math of caloric surplus for all of this to be fat, it must be almost entirely fluid (fwiw when i weighed this much as an obese teenager, i was soft and dough-y and right now im more like an overfull water balloon)
I go to the doctor
They tell me to lose weight
I'm like, the weight is why im here
They blink. They tell me to try losing weight anyway
@Xibanya Have they tried being a real doctor instead of a dumbarse?
the good news is i look great for 200 pounds! u wouldn't be able to tell by looking at my face! time for my new career as a plus sized model!!!
because its fkn edema ffs
bro i cant even lace my fingers together im pretty sure that is a skill entirely within the purview of conventionally fat people
@Xibanya
Yeah no I'm somewhere between 230-250 and my fingers interlace fine except for my broken pinky. Your doctor brushed you off and I'd like to kick them in the shins. My doc monitors my weight for rapid changes in either direction to make sure my meds aren't messing me up.
@heathen_cat ugh I gotta drag myself to a new doctor. It's just one thing after another
Fair point to the doctor: I would be healthier if I lost the weight!
however rather than diet and exercise im p sure to lose the weight i need to have like underlying organ failure fixed? maybe??
@Xibanya
"Doctor, I am having problem that is turning me into a human water bed"
"No worries, simply stop being a human water bed"
butt doctor, I am Pagliacci!
@Xibanya Xib, have you tried just not being sick?
@Xibanya - Not once have i ever heard a story where someone goes to the doctor's office and the doctor saying "After listening to you and your concerns let's this course of action for your betterment."
It's always just the story your experience, and an unreasonably high visit fee/charge, followed by "go be sick somewhere else buddy" the subsequent other medical intermediaries.
