I have been going to gigs for over 30 years, but for some reason I will avoid wearing the t shirt of a band that are on the bill. I don't know why this is, but it's always been the case. I know this isn't the most exciting confession, but it is true.

@fesshole a notable exception to this rule is Iron Maiden where you'll rarely see anyone wearing another band's shirt. There's still a prize for obscurity, though
@fesshole As someone who's been doing it a tad over 30 years -- of course. That's the proper way to do it.
Besides, it's a fun conversation starter to wear some other band's shirt.
@fesshole proper thing is to wear a shirt of a band in the same genre but more obscure.
@fesshole This used to be the social norm. People would get yelled at, criticized, called bad luck for doing so.
Thankfully, this is no longer the case.
@fesshole Nah. That makes sense. You're already showing your support for the band by being there. Wearing a shirt for another band is a way to communicate to others in the audience about a wider range of what you like. It's a means of making connections. Perfectly normal human behavior.
