We live in a country with public healthcare, paid paternal leave, great work-life balance, auroras, endless forests, waterfalls and...on top of all of that, weekly waffles.

@Vivaldi believe it or not, the united states has public heath care called medicaire and medicaid but it is restricted for seniors, disabled people and the poor. there are free dental & health clinics which also offer gratis drugs.
there are latino stores & restaurants all around me -- also ukrainian & russian stores galore. we have public transportation in cities. UPS gave me vacation, personal, sick & funeral time & tuition for college. the US has tution grants.
phildephia has great hospitals.
@Vivaldi , same in Spain, except auroras, these would be creepy here in the South. Waffles optional, here are more churros and hot chocolate or some fresh beer and tapas with friends,

and I don't want to distract from any of it, but since the last update the browser doesn't seem to find the touch-sensitive space on my phone properly
which is a real nuisance when for example I'm trying to click on links or tick little boxes on a form field
if you can fit it in around the waffles I would be super-appreciative of a fix

My condolences that you can no longer emigrate to a country where you don't have any of that.
You will also miss the nice feeling that you are personally going bankrupt after a hospital admission.

@Vivaldi …and everything’s closed on Sundays. And the choice in the supermarket is absolutely awful. Rich and poor at the same time. Apart from that, it’s a brilliant country.

@Vivaldi auroras are in alaska. the united states is a fairly large, spread out country.
i have never left this country. i have been to florida one time down to the everglades & i don't care to return there. i've been to upsate new york once and to new york city a few times. i like new york state but not NYC.
i hardly ever travel far from philadelphia except to go down the shore in new jersey.
i bet norway is nice -- it is civilised country unlike the united states.
we have philadelphia freedom.
