Is this how you want workers to be treated? 😒

@jaredwhite Everyone should be mad and tell them so, but the company will find another way to accomplish the same goal of eliminating non-AI-using employees. Finding another provider is the only reasonable outcome for everyone whom this bothers.
@jaredwhite Here is Proton’s reply to my “bug report” citing the article:

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us.
Proton is not doing layoffs and using AI as an excuse. We actually have a big shortage of talent and are actively hiring across the org:
https://proton.me/careers#jobslist
AI is changing the tech industry and we, like everyone else, need to evolve our ways of working to remain effective in our industry, and to deliver features faster to users.
Proton exists to protect privacy and give people control over their digital lives. That commitment guides how we evaluate and use AI, including the tools we use internally. We see opportunities to build better products and work more effectively, but using AI requires judgment about privacy, security, accuracy, and where it adds actual value.
We are assessing how colleagues are adapting to these tools, what support they need, and who can help lead this work. We're 1 🧵
@LabSpokane Thanks for sharing that.
I wonder what their process is for promoting workers who conscientiously object to using these dangerous digital materials. Surely they would never be penalized right? Right? 🤡
@jaredwhite I don’t know, but I’m not giving up. I have replied back.
The sad part is that I truly like and use Proton’s products. Good products are the result of good employees. And if Proton is unhappy with development speed, they could have made better decisions, like not doing crypto-wallets. A Spanish Inquisition won’t spur productivity.
@jaredwhite as expected from them. Not sure why so many people defended them after their leadership saw Elon as a role model.
Ask ProtonMail what's up:

I've been a customer for a few years and recently got my renewal notice.
Before I renew, I've asked them to justify this. A re-interview of sorts.
@jaredwhite Honestly the President of the company is a Trump supporter. I used to love Proton but I jumped ship when I heard that.
@jaredwhite also this is not surprising
@jaredwhite
Glad I chucked those fucks at the first sign of nazism.
@jaredwhite @protonprivacy management seems determined to move the company into "like the product, hate the company territory."
@jaredwhite Are you sure AI isn’t a religious cult?
@DawnBlackbirds as someone who once escaped a cult myself, yes, I absolutely believe it is one. 😂
@jaredwhite That must have been tough 😟 Trust me to say that to the one person who’d know!
@DawnBlackbirds thankfully it wasn't one of the personally scary ones…just a "high control" religious group with ties to the extreme Christian nationalist movements which helped Trump get elected in 2016. (Thankfully I was pretty much out by the time that happened… in fact witnessing his rise helped confirm my full exit in my mind. I knew in no way was "God" on any side which would platform that hideous creep.)
@jaredwhite these guys make email what the fuck do they think they need to be on the ai grind for
@jaredwhite Didn't they also give money to DHH? I'm a customer and would be curious what other people use as an alternative?
