The Terms of Service have NOT changed.

This is an additional checkbox that essentially says "Automatically say NO to any Enterprise that wants to use my stuff for Machine Learning"

If you don't opt out, Superhive will still ask you if an Enterprise is interested in your stuff. You can say no.

It's just like putting a "No Junk Mail" sticker on your letterbox.

I think it would be wise to make a more public statement clarifying what the policy is. Sorry for spreading misinfo if I got this wrong.

If you don't check the box, and you don't see the email, is that equivalent to an opt-in? Because that's different then, and *is* concerning. That feels like it should be fixed.

Hi Jonathan, I’m glad you’ve responded since my goal was to start a dialogue and hopeffuly make some things a bit clearer to creators. The screenshot I’ve provided clearly states “all” not “any” meaning it will never be shown to enterprises regardless if for AI purposes or not if a user opts out. Maybe it’s just badly worded? Could we get a checkmark to manually opt in to “enterprise AI purposes” instead? This doesn’t align with the current TOS, where SuperHive will email the creator, and if...

@cwebber daily reminder that "opting out" in all closed source software has 0 evidence ever that opting out changes anything or any behavior at all. Actually, most evidence like in smart TVs points to the opposite.

Poison the dataset instead.

@cwebber This permission stuff is really backwards. There should be consumer protection laws requiring users to have to explicitly give consent. This “we are updating terms” thing takes away user rights.
