I've basically all but talked myself into the idea that I should rename the podcast/newsletter to more accurately reflect the theme I've shifted to lately
"Out of the 'AI' Crisis"
Bad idea? Yes? No? Maybe?
Pretty sure it would clear out a bunch of subscribers to both the podcast and the newsletter but might make up for it afterwards with new subscribers.
@j5v My focus is currently on investigating and explaining the current state of the industry and how it affects those of us working in tech (and media) from the perspective of somebody in that position: who works in tech and media.

@independentpen I've mostly just operated using my name "Baldur Bjarnason" but the podcast and newsletter have always been sent out under the name of my first book: "Out of the Software Crisis"
@baldur former brand strategist here. If you don't mind changing the name every 5-10 years this sounds like a fine switch to me; if you want your name to be evergreen (staying the same permanently) you might considering broadening it, maybe to "out of the tech crisis," which would let you write about any crisis you want over time. Best bet is a permanent name paired with a less permanent tagline; they could work together reflecting your shifting priorities over time while keeping your core identity stable
@baldur in a way your image is kind of doing that, with "out of the crisis" visually looking like your core name, and "ai" looking like an add on. If you wanted to go that direction I'd suggest printing your name in text (ie your written newsletter name) as "out of the crisis" which is simple and interesting. And maybe adding an ai-themed tagline written as a subtitle if needed

@baldur There might be a risk of people pre-judging your content if your work has a name that reflects a strong stance. Also depends what your purpose is: are you working through thoughts for yourself, or would you like to convince others of a policy or course of action, or are you 'finding your people' for mutual support, safety, or affirmation?
