Has Mastodon always been This Purple in dark mode?!
@neil No, but the rest of the interface in the screenshot doesn’t look like 5.0 so I don’t know if it’s related.
I am running the glitch-soc fork, which has, I think, some aspects of 5.0, but not all of them.
(I'd happily test it more thoroughly if it did, but I don't know if that is on the cards or not.)
@neil there is something very funky going on with the elephant in the bottom left, too
I have popped this in as custom CSS, and it is back to how I remember it:
```
[data-color-scheme="dark"], html:not([data-color-scheme]) {
color-scheme: dark;
--base-color-bg: #17151c;
}
```
But I need to fix my "Toot!" button...
I am not submitting this to the Mastodon community forum, as feedback, because I cannot be sure that it is a change linked with the 5.0 release.
@neil Purple colour is part of Mastodon v5 release. Other theme developers have also been switching the colour off to make Mastodon UI more relaxing again.
@neil Felt like I found this by accident yesterday on mobile. Really rather purple... but not unattractive.
@neil Think so. I have dark mode on all the time, and I have noticed no major change.
I've forced Dark Reader on (usually it is off if a site has its own dark mode), and it is now less purple, but still more purple than I remember it.
@neil thanks for posting this. The current look is really ugly.
