I have my phone in Do Not Disturb most of the time and have disabled most notifications entirely.
I actually think the entire idea of "phone notifications" is somewhat insane. Like, why do I even want that?? I don't, really.
The number of people on the entire planet who I want to hear from ASAP if they're desperately needing to get ahold of me I can count on one hand.
@jaredwhite 100%! I’m also club permanent silent. I actually think some people close to me in life are annoyed at how often I miss their calls/texts lol
@jimniels @jaredwhite In Japan, they tend to call ‘Do Not Disturb’ as “manner mode” implying that proper manners is to not disturb those around you 😂
Before every film “Please set your phone to manner mode”
Every one of my devices basically gets set to manner mode pretty soon after I boot it for the first time. I do have my watch for notifications, but I try to be proactive about disabling a lot of notifications there as well.
@jimniels They would be even more annoyed if you go insane, so I think protecting your mental health is the main priority. 😅
@jaredwhite @jimniels Did everyone in the states just get constant spam calls and texts??
That barely never happens for me, so if I get an Actual Phone Call I assume it’s fairly important. (Unless I don’t have the contact saved, then there ain’t no way!)
I get that we have mobile phones with us always now, but did y’all leave landlines off the hook back in the day to block parole too? 😆
