Man I really want to give #NetBSD another go, but... well, what I saw with my alternate choice of video card was making me worried. My initial choice, the Intel Arc A770, has zero support and only worked if EVERYTHING was done in CPU (which made things painfully slow, especially in the web browser! YIKES) so I swapped in my old RTX 2060. It is *literally* listed on https://wiki.netbsd.org/gpus/ as being supported. And yet, video came up all screwed up, like it was trying to draw a smaller resolution on a 1080p display. And it was *also* screwed up on... Linux. But only with the #nouveau driver? Switch to official driver, everything works correctly. So now I'm wondering if there are compatability issues with the nouveau driver and the RTX 2060 that aren't clearly documented on the official website, as well as what version of nouveau NetBSD 11 ships with.
Also I was going to look into sourcing a Radeon card since Those Never Have Problems, but apparently you have to build NetBSD from source to enable the Radeon driver?? Based on info from https://www.unitedbsd.com/d/1703-netbsd-amdgpu-testing-in-2026
@techokami @netbsd Crowdsourced hardware compatibility lists are always in dire need of more input
