Severe gale northwest winds with damaging gusts of 130 km/h in exposed places, especially inland. Impact: Damage to trees, powerlines, and unsecured structures possible. Expect 200 to 250 mm of rain about the ranges, but 300 mm is possible about isolated peaks. This is in addition to the rain that has already fallen. Coastal areas may only get 30 to 60 mm of rain during this period, but brief high intensity rainfall there could still cause impacts. Peak rates of 25 to 35 mm/h expected from evening, mainly about the ranges. Impact: Streams and rivers may rise rapidly. Surface flooding, slips, and difficult driving conditions possible. Chance of upgrading to a Red Warning: Low.

Expect 110 to 150 mm of rain about the main divide, and 70 to 110 mm within 25 km farther east. Peak rates of 25 to 35 mm/h expected about the divide. Freezing level about 3000 metres. Impact: Streams and rivers may rise rapidly. Surface flooding, slips, and difficult driving conditions possible. Chance of upgrading to a Red Warning: Minimal. Changes: Timing for onset of heavy rain brought forward extending the period of heavy rain, so rainfall totals increased slightly.
