Artists! If you have an EU Etsy shop you are now required to share your passport & a selfie with the third party provider Persona.
Otherwise you won't get any payments & your shop will be closed within 90 days. Persona has faced scrutiny over exposed database front ends & complex third-party subprocessor networks (incl. AI firms) handling user information. It is time to close my Etsy shop for good (I only kept it open for custom orders).

If you heavily depend on income through Etsy, do not choose the automated facial recognition technology procedure. Use instead the non-biometric authentication. At least this option is a bit less risky.
@sylvia_ritter Well, after taking ages to get to my Etsy shop dashboard, I've found that most of my listings seem to have disappeared while my shop has been on hiatus. So... decision made, I guess
