Remember Picasa from the previous decade?
It was quite popular before Google killed it and replaced it with Google Photos.
Here is an open source image viewer for Linux that recreates the Picasa experience with modern file format support.
You can view HEIC, AVIF, JPEG XL, RAW previews, Motion Photos, and animated APNG.
Floating window and fullscreen modes, cropping, and export are also included.
@itsfoss trying it out. I was looking for a quick and easy option rather than launching GIMP.
I can't wait to try out Licasa. I've sorely missed Picasa. It was simple. It did exactly what you wanted. The UI was intuitive. And I could downgrade a bunch of high resolution photos fast in order to email them.
