my wife is suggesting healthy alternatives to halloween treats and I am suggesting legal separation if that occurs

@deutrino things are so cheap in japan
@sun Japanese sweets are good enough to become mainstream in the US, don't pass up a good thing when you've got it
@mrsaturday I suspect there will be trick or treating in japan in another ten years. halloween themed treats and decorations are in every grocery store now
@sun That's funny because trick or treating is largely dead here and Halloween's become almost more like St. Patrick's Day than what it was
@mrsaturday@shitposter.world @sun@shitposter.world It's all done on like a saturday in daytime with consenting locations now ahead of time now. It's really kind of depressing.
@miscbrains @mrsaturday white woman nannies are ruining halloween more than immigration imo
@sun @miscbrains Millennials went from getting mad about boomers lording over their lives to sewing airtags in their kids' underwear
@mrsaturday @miscbrains "lol every generation says the ones after it are worse" actually I think this is correct, every old society that said this eventually fucking failed
@sun@shitposter.world @mrsaturday@shitposter.world I mean that's an inevitability? If that generation dies out how would it survive? It's basically impossible to maintain the status quo, and managed decline is all over the place.
Society is carrying a heavy load in that sentence.
Does it change the equation based on which generational direction the statement is made? The natural order of the universe tends towards chaos so it seems like it would be true forever.
If you think the increase in lifespan and generalized economic benefits was not worth the lost of trust in society from the previous generation AND you can see that the upcoming society is even more fucked....

@miscbrains @mrsaturday natural trajectory of a society is up and then down and ideally back up for a while before going back down and avoiding collapse but it will probably collapse. and a person should recognize that this is the behavior, not "infinite progress"
@mrsaturday really, thats sad, it still was going strong when I left the midwest in 2010 or so
@sun chocolate prices :(
