Man, I've been working really hard on this in-game festival planning and coordination for like a month, on the side of me dealing with day job (3 committee, 2 talks, lots of meetings, and my normal classes/grading).
And the message I got from people in Discord was just "no your pain points and concerns are wrong and you are wrong" and admittedly I just haven't felt like logging into #Achaea since then.
I'll finish up this festival and see how I feel after. Still needs another month of work.
They're acting like allowing IRL dates in OOC communications for planning will destroy the RP enforced environment.
All my organizing has been In Character, except also asking OOC for city/org organizers them to check a spreadsheet of dates.
"You should only need to use in game dates!"
I do not thing everybody I'm coordinating with would agree. -_-
A little acknowledgement of work one puts in, a little gratitude, goes a long fucking way for work being put in for free.
Feeling totally dismissed and piled on has, for the time being, destroyed my enthusiasm and enjoyment of the game. #Achaea
I've been reading so much game history and lore for my character's scholarly endeavours and now it feels like a waste of time.
Do I want to join a city? Feels like a waste.
Do I want to join an order? Feels like a waste.
Now I'm just contemplating finishing my "job" and moving on elsewhere.

Do you want new blood to play AND organize things in game, or do you want to say no, we've always(???) used in-game dates only(???) for event planning for the past 20 years so therefore you and everyone else should suck it up?
(The Achaean calendar is a mess and is unpredictable. All the UPCOMING events in game are shown with IRL dates. But I shouldn't "have to" use IRL dates to coordinate with 20+ other players on their events lineup. Ok.)
