Reading "Surface Detail" for a second time and muttering "there is no way Elon Musk read and liked this" every now and then.
It is well known that Elon Musk does not often read for himself.
Nor does he often watch movies. Nor does he often play his own video games.
And when he does, he does not understand them.
@futurebird or, at least, no way he understood it.
Wouldn't he find Veppers ... offensive? Hurtful? Or did he assume that was someone else?
@futurebird I can imagine him being into the artificial hells (it has a kind of Roko's basilisk vibe) and thinking Vateuil/Zakalwe is cool.
That's enough key jiggling to distract him from the parts he probably wouldn't like to think about too deeply.
@futurebird i think it's reasonable to assume he would have been told about the contents of the story and then advised to lie about it in order to give the impression he somehow isn't who he is. bill gates does this all the time
@futurebird arguably, barack obama too
Being rich and famous sounds like it really sucks.
@futurebird I can easily see him liking it. I’m sure he sees himself as Veppers and doesnt see the character as a villain
