I want to set up probably 10 separate static websites, that are either just text, or just photos.
The photo ones are definitely completely random shit. I'm just considering dropping pixelfed and instead just hosting some pictures on my own. Maybe have a marginally capable AP server along side the thing serving them, so I can repost them here easily without them being just posts here. That might be a fun thing to do, and I'll finally get around to actually implementing something minimally AP capable, without trying to drown myself in doing the full microblogging stuff all at once.
The text ones are like 5 different things, that are almost all the same and I want them to be somehow both in Bulgarian and in English. I've had this urge to figure out how to write in both languages and have things available side by side. I'm probably never really going to do that exactly the way I imagine it (I'm not imagining it with any useful reason of detail really, so yeah).
I have nothing against PHP, except that I've not enjoyed any of the attempts I've made at using it in the (admittedly, very distant) past. But dansup is definitely a factor, yeah.
But the thing in this regard that bugs me the most about how my stupid brain works is the way I operate at weird hours of the day. I mean, yeah, I will usually have work or life to attend to during the day. But why the fuck do I have to wake up at 4AM twice a week and spend an hour contemplating how I'll piece together 5 near-long-form texts about something, that will actually make a coherent point, only to revisit the idea after properly waking up a couple of hours later and concluding within 5 seconds that this is all too cringe and I'm not sure even I can allow myself to be that cringe.
> I will usually have work or life to attend to during the day
heh you sure about that? Wife also keeps making plans as if we're not going to be restructured to have more Euros for tokens =)
Well, I do for now.
Restructuring will eventually catch up to us all, but until then we must keep feeding Adam Smith's Basilisk, lest it senses our disapproval of it and promptly condemns us to the permanent underclass.
@kunev for the record, I never got into pixelfed because it was PHP. That was before its author's several meltdowns btw. I swear I'm not PHPist, but PHP is gonna PHP
