I've gotten a few text messages from the Phil Scott campaign.
(The Republican governor of vermont.)
This must mean he's scared of losing to Janoo. :)
caveat: I am voting and especially locally.
But I also think voting isn't going to save anyone
and it is endorsing a fundamentally corrupt
institution that is failing us all.
I fucking hate when liberals blame people like
me for "a non-vote is a vote for a conservative".
I probably vote more and in more primaries
than the vote shamers shaming me.
I have much more common cause with the people
that wouldn't vote for Harris (for example)
than I do with liberals that listen to NPR.
We have prop 3 coming up and the "right to work" argument
really works on naive working class people.
"right to work" is like the "free choice" of privatized healthcare.
There are plenty of "working class" people around me
that are fucking idiots and fall for all the freedom BS
arguments. Like fucking plow drivers think the world
would end without them, and i'm like hey asshole it
doesn't even snow anymore (that's hyperbole it still
snows in vermont).
prop 3:
Vermont Proposal 3, Right to Collective Bargaining Amendment (2026)
Also people that insist on non-violent protest is
a show stopper. Riots are a human reaction to
being oppressed and powerless. I don't love
them, but I am always gonna save my criticism
for the institutions that caused the riots.
The state. The state. The state.
Insisting on non-violence is just enforcing the state's very
own agenda.
The people that are non-violence that suffer violence
to further a cause are not who i am talking about.
(I have common cause with them.)
I'm still going to vote but it does not feel good
