more seriously though, the last two rust panels are still being compiled
what makes this joke ridiculous is that ecl compiles even slower. silly additions will continue until everyone switches to common lisp.
@jackdaniel @shinmera I think it’s mainly GC pauses that cause people to avoid GC. Though those are now much less pronounced than 15 years ago.
The rust version would be the programmer giving the robot a ball of memory with a legal contract attached. And then the robot throwing it in their face saying „filled out wrong! Try again or say ‘unsafe’!“
