@jwildeboer woo, Tosh Satellite in the wild :)
EEEEEEEeeeeeeeeh* KRRRRRSH
@jwildeboer Never had a 56k modem, so the BOONnng surprised me a bit.
@jwildeboer Great vid - and love the subtitles. As someone who designed modems and wrote dsp code for them in the 80s and 90s, it's a trip down memory land! You could follow the train up process, and tell what was going right or wrong, just by listening...
Also wrote the first single processor V32 modem, on a Motorola 56001 DSP. Lovely chip, at the time!
@jwildeboer I think my journey with #internet at #home started with a used V33 from a friend, I bought then a V90 and then swichted to DSL 1MBit as my parents were pissed that I blocked the #telephone line all the time.
@jwildeboer The 28k8 connect sound lives rent-free in my head.
Music for the brain (with text) 😆
@jwildeboer oh my stars, what a gift.
@jwildeboer that's amazing, thank you 🤩
@jwildeboer Thank you. This totally made my day.
@jwildeboer Needs 19.2kbps PEP and HST! I still have a Telebit TrailBlazer and a USR Courier V.Everything, if anyone wants to fix this.
