A campaign ad should tell voters what a candidate stands for. Too often this year, we’ve seen something else: personal smears, fearmongering, and attacks on people who are already vulnerable. From the exploitation of Amy Acton’s childhood trauma to anti-trans ads bankrolled by Elon Musk, the politics of fear is on full display. https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/2026-midterm-final-argument-ads

@georgetakei there's a reason for that. People wouldn't vote for the bastards if they knew what they actually stood for. Because what they seem to stand for is cronyism, enriching themselves, and covering their own asses.
@georgetakei The majority of ads shoved at me have been requests for money to "win" the election from the other side. Perhaps I'm on lists that put me on one side or the other. Both sides it turns out. But .. little justification I've seen beyond "us over them". 🤷♂️
@georgetakei There are bacteria that live in diarrhea; then there's Vivek Ramaswamy.
@georgetakei I honestly don't feel like voting. But tonight I will finally open the blasted ballot. And get it to the library drop off tomorrow.
