this keynote makes me want to toke
@ariadne that room isn’t nearly hotboxed enough. (Or at all)
The tokenomics aren’t lookin good right now.
I'm just here to introduce techbros to object capabilities. this is an attempt at harm reduction.
@ariadne yes, I got that part but it seems I'm lacking the context. What are we talking about exactly?
not discussed: the environmental damage
@ariadne tHEY USE "TOKENOMICS" FOR THIS NOW???!?
Feels like just yesterday it meant "economics of a buttcoin 'token' i.e. 'currency'"
3 out of 4 can't make the case that their slop spend leads to positive business outcomes 😂
hell yeah just slot me into the borg alcove
actually this is fascinating but I still hate it because I hate being a cog in a machine
It's 9 am, you get your coffee and hop into Buzz.
at 9:01:00 you get a PM from ManagerBot.
ManagerBot wants to have a Google Meet call with you and HRBot.
HRBot is concerned about the number of tokens you've produced lately. Your coworker... CoderBot is producing 1000x more tokens than you do.
So ManagerBot and HRBot decided that your role has been eliminated.
You try to go to the data center to shut down the servers running ManagerBot and HRBot but your access credentials were already revoked via the Okta MCP server.
Oh... what's this? SecurityBot noticed on the security camera feed that you've gotten a jerry can of gasoline and you're trying to burn the data center down.
So SecurityBot DMs MurderBot on Buzz with the footage.
MurderBot chases you down and... does the deed.
This is the AI-powered kill chain working as designed.
It's AM not PM. Did AWS replace their SREs with bots?
at least I get to watch a solid talk from @aaronpk
"i used to work at google in ads"
i'm sorry
when do I get to meet Aella? really looking to get waterboarded
its ok: proofs will solve the problems of slop
@ariadne "You can solve the problems of AI by writing tests"
"But who will write the tests?"
"AI"
"Then the problem is not solved"
"Okay, but you can reduce the problems with the AI tests by writing clear documentation"
"But who will write the documentation?"
"AI"
"Then the problem is not reduced"
"Okay but all of these problems can be solved by simply writing proofs"
"But who will write the proofs?"
"Recent research by Anthropic shows AI is actually excellent at writing proofs—"
@mcc @ariadne my partner is required to use claude for work. she's managing to wrangle it bc she's a rare sort that likes writing proofs in theorem provers for fun, so she actually does know how to write constraints that force it to at least do what it's told
it still produces code that looks like garbage and is horribly inefficient, of course
@gwenverbsnouns @ariadne I would simply decide I don't actually need food or shelter
@mcc @ariadne it's tough. she's super burnt out and wants to leave; she's had to pull two all nighters in the past month to keep up with work. they laid off 70% of her coworkers and expect her to do more with less bc they think AI should improve her productivity, when in practice it slows her down
but she makes a lot of money and is also responsible for paying like 30% of our 8-person polycule's living expenses, including healthcare for a lot of disabled trans people (including me)
@ariadne is the speaker double flipping-off the audience?
