Posts deleted from Google support forum
Is that an actual Google support person or just some volunteer who has "diamond" status because they've answered a lot of questions?
Because damn that is fucking rude.
@mcc Yeah, I've been taking things off Google wherever possible because of the AI crap.
Moral: Do NOT use the F word¹ on the Google support forums, you WILL be moderated for "inappropriate language" and your posts removed.
¹ "F-Droid"
@mcc F-Droid getting censored for that is quite something.
@mcc I observe "promotional content" in the moderator message. An explicit "don't mention our competitors" rule? I could imagine that could be motivated by real misbehavior (ads for competing products disguised as complaints)
@01d55 he mentioned three rules I broke; it seems plausible to me that by linking the f droid app I literally broke the promotional content rule. It seems a little odd to use "promotional content" to describe advocacy for a free application with whom I have no relationship of any kind and did not receive anything in exchange for said advocacy, but maybe the full rules are posted somewhere and if you read the full wording you'll see I broke it. That's possible
@01d55 But I do note he deleted both comments, not just the one where I "promoted" the F-Droid app. This seems to raise the possibility the first post was deleted not because I broke a rule but because I accurately pointed out he was intentionally misconstruing my point and he didn't like that. Many things are possible in this world
@mcc Which f word? "functional"? "functioning"?
@mcc it’s a really fun trick to define a term so broadly that no one can complain about you using it without you being able to dismiss them out of hand
@mcc poor little google, afraid of users. how fragile it has become.
