@nyquildotorg Those were their exact words.
So that we the e edition.
The actual paper is monumentally worse.
I don't understand how you can screw up so badly?
@ajroach42 even ignoring the copy fuckup... what is going on with that masthead? Is it always like that?
@reb No!
That's why I shared the photo. They don't know how to run a newspaper.
@ajroach42 they should get William De Worde in to sort it out.
That really is shockingly bad though, am I right in thinking a conglomerate took it over recently-ish?
@reb about a month ago.
@ajroach42 actual content aside… wtf is up with the print edition’s header layout?
Do they usually reserve that left side for some… thing?
@ajroach42 absolute chaos. Big empty space that should have been a vertical photo? Where are the editors or proofers?? Were the proofers AI?? If so, that's another example of AI being incapable of "understanding" context.
@NadiaPurge They were purchased by a private equity firm that closed their main office and fired most of the staff.
@ajroach42 a similar thing happened here. It is infuriating.
This is what private equity does.
@ajroach42 did they actually make a reference to Pretty Woman (1990) or are you paraphrasing?
