I get up just before 6am daily to give Mom her first medication dose. She rests until getting out of bed at 8am, when I take her first daily vitals, log them, give insulin & rest of the morning meds. Then, I make breakfast.
It's cold in the mornings now. My morning routine now includes lighting the woodstove, early morning, to warm up our home before Mom arises.
Asher & I are enjoying the fireside warmth. I'm reading a book while my eggs are boiling.

I always wonder whether cats purposefully (or subconsciously, if that means anything for a cat) lie down in such a way as to camouflage themselves, as Asher is sort of doing in this picture with the rug pattern.
