It's his only way out. He knows that xAI is doomed, because no-one is using Grok. So he tried to add value by "selling" it to SpaceX, which has at least one profitable branch, Starlink. But that won't be enough to survive. Now he needs to add more actual substance and hopes no-one will let the resulting company go bankrupt, bc then also the Teslas will go away.
And he's right, he's otherwise reaching "financial singularity", also known as going belly up.
@davidgerard I can't get verified by archive.org and don't have a subscription to FT, so can I just assume this is Musk peddling more sci fi bs to hide that Tesla is in trouble?
