saw a video from some leftie that tried to explain what democratic socialism is, written seemingly from a US perspective, but whoever wrote the dialogue clearly spent so much time with other lefties, they forgot what terms normally mean in the context of US politics
like, someone who calls themself a "liberal" in the united states would never say "socialism is when the government gives money to lazy people" -- if they don't like "socialism" as an idea, it might be in the context of the governments of the soviet union and china, which have largely failed to reach any of the lofty socialist promises the lefties in the u.s. and europe want to achieve, and in addition to that also happen to be less liberal or democratic than even the screwed-up oligarchic form of government the u.s. has now
also, i have friends who are "moderate" liberals who dislike "socialists" and "anarchists" and 'the left", and they still think mamdani and abdul el-sayed and all those other "socialist" politicians are good, actually
get out of your bubbles, folks
you are not immune to "how do you do, fellow kids?"
