I’m back to more-or less full activity after May’s abdominal surgery and the subsequent carpal tunnel flare-up from trying to work from an iPad in bed because stting up hurt.
I’ve also been seeing a … movement therapist? She uses yoga, resistance bands, and tailored exercise routines to help people live with chronic orthopaedic issues. This has been surprisingly hard work, as in I’m more sore for longer than I used to be after the gym, but it’s helping a lot.
My wrists still aren’t quite up to plank type poses or the suspension trainer, but my little 10 minute morning mobility and cardio routine helps my mood and fitness, and I think it’s also, slowly, changing the shape of my body.
I’m still doing butterfly sit-ups, though the movement therapist cautions they might be rough on my lower back, because they make me feel like I have abdominal muscles for the first time in my life.
