Ive gotten pretty wary of some self published stuff lately too... between all the slop text and the folks trying to avoid paying an artist for cover art...
If your self published please advertise your slop free in some way. On your back cover or in your description, etc. Really struggling with sorting out the slop lately. #books #ebooks #selfPublished #neverAI #NoAI #AntiAI
@temporal_spider They could I suppose, but most AI users seem hyper concerned with promoting their AI use as wonderful; so my gut seems to think that it might take a bit for rampant lying to catch on.
Self labeling/reporting is generally also the only real option for giving consumers choice and is being used pretty effectively in the self published TTRPG scene on storefronts like DriveThruRPG. Most slop authors there simply label they have used AI, or leave it ambiguous. Few have insisted it was 100% human made when it was not.

@trashheap What's to stop slop from lying about being a human? (Sorry, not trying to be combative. I'm just as tired and cynical as you.)
