When Twitter made the avatars round a couple of years ago, people mocked them for it, but here we are, late to the party and even sillier with it. Making the post, excuse me, “pube” box a pop-up is such a backwards idea I’d conclude you must be getting Event Horizoned at whatever Swiss basement this outfit is being run from these days; except of course that we know you’re just desperately copying Bluesky in the sad fetishistic delusion that aping bad ideas from other websites will make journalists or JK Rowling or whatever the target demographic is these days come to Mastodon. Gargron fumbled that bag years ago and it’s never coming back around. There’s absolutely no reason for you to act like a new CEO inventing busywork to justify giving themselves a bonus, since, in the first place, I think you’re probably paid in rusty nails and hunt your own food, in the basement.
