Autistic & ADHD people talking about our experiences is "cringey" to neurotypicals.
Ok, so what? Fuck off & let us talk amongst ourselves, then.
Don't show up & tell us "you're not autistic. You're just weird & I don't like how you behave or communicate."
It is just bullying. Whether they realize it or not doesn't matter: it's bullying.
It's pointing at the people they find "weird" & laughing at us for how "cringe" we are.
"Autistic people are fine, I just hate all of the traits associated with autism."
What.
Who tf is "faking" being autistic?
The main benefit I have found from telling people I'm autistic is that sometimes they say "I'm autistic too" & we breathe a sigh of relief as we slightly lower our masks.
Oh, you feel there is something "off" about all these people "claiming" to be autistic?
Well, a lot of people decide there is something "off" about autistic people, whether they are aware the person is autistic or not. They've done studies.
