I find it a bit depressing that a single photo of my dog doing nothing gets way more attention on Mastodon than any of the hard work I put into making things. I should just delete my account and create one for my dog instead. 😅 Pets > People…apparently?
@mark I have learned that whenever I post a selfie that I need to include one of my dogs in the shot. A) the photo gets more likes than if I am the only one in the pic and 😎 the cuteness of the dog definitely helps make the picture more tolerable than if it is just my ugly mug
@DownForce I’ve been on the internet for like 30 years and I am just learning this. 🤯 I’m probably just dumb. 😅
@mark I think here is full of nerds. But so many of us are very very tired of a lot of nerd things in the year of 2026.
But pets? Lovely break into something that actually matters and isn’t swamped in a plethora of depressing surrounding topics and issues eating at our morale.
@mark Hahaha 😆, I thought this was happening onto me alone,but I have found the person whom we share the same experience.
Once I post our poultry birds, they get more view and comments, but trouble comes when I post about the need for support of our work especially buying land,everyone just bypasses my post I think 🤔
My dog drew something.
(Alright I think I’m on to something here. )
@mark pets > people is an equation which has been true since at least the beginning of internet
@mark Wait until you share the hard work your dog does!
@dimitribouniol My dog is one of the laziest dogs in existence. He prefers to play fetch while laying down. 😅
@mark Well, yeah, Mark.
Hey, if folks give you attention by paying for that hard work, then you’re doing it right.
