The invisible hand of the market at work
Consumers have the power to end this nonsense. If everyone were to drop these companies for a month we’d be flooded with press releases from these services about how they were recommitting to making entertainment affordable for their subscribers.
As someone who has paid $0.00/month to all those services across all those years, it’s been a continuous shake my head moment to watch the prices go up and up and up while everyone… just pays them.
@Ragashingo @benlockwood people want (some of) what they're selling - me included- but don't want to pay a ton, so I constantly sub and un-sub. And I'm sure many people are doing exactly that. So I effectively rent a 10 episode TV show for like, $14.99 that cost $10mil to make. When thought of that way it's not a bad deal and cheaper than buying a DVD box set or whatever used to be. (Of course without the ownership but also it's cheaper and most stuff I don't rewatch anyway.) Tradeoffs.
@bigzaphod @Ragashingo @benlockwood yep cheaper than 1 dvd a month. And quite a lot cheaper than cable is. For me, I’m still happy with that deal. Just have 1 of those services.
