Not enjoying the new 5.0 interface. Notifications are all clumped together so I can't tell when there's anything new, the right column is all wasted space while I can't find the stuff I used every day all jammed into the left column higgledy-spigglety.

@adwright it appears to me as if the interface were designed assuming everyone is using a browser stretched the full length of a modern monitor. It's... fine, mostly, in that context. But on smaller screens, yeeesh, it's not great.
And the new reply user interface is a nightmare of unusability. It actually qualifies as being so bad it is user hostile.
Now, there is a whole third of my screen totally empty and unused on the right, and my compose window is jammed into the post I'm replying to so I cannot see it while I write my response unless I open a new Mastodon tab to do that and switch between the two.
