Very happy to know that my Abandoned America trademark has been coopted by not one but two different AI slop "creators", both based out of Europe to circumvent my legal protections. I love this new world we live in.

@Firlefanz I agree, and thank you. Unfortunately AI has led to my new, post AI work being shared on Patreon. My older work is still available though because that's all been ingested already so no point in removing it, and that's thousands of pages of stuff

@gregw in a lot of ways it does. I try to keep my eyes and mind on what's in front of me, and do my best to make that something that makes me happy. Not 100% successful but it does help

@AbandonedAmerica I think protection against this is much stricter in the EU. Especially in Germany, people should legally disclose the use of AI.

Otherwise, albeit more work, maybe time to Kickstarter etc. one together, get the money upfront from people who know, use the campaign to highlight the IP theft along the way/evidence for takedowns and fight the bastards?
Wondering if The Good Law Project or some sympathetic publishers could get involved… there must be others out there…
@EdtheChem I have two books, one out of print and one with a publisher who is shady as hell. I don't know that I have the time or the energy to solicit donations to go after AI fraudsters. Amazon surprisingly agreed to remove the AI books in the US. I'm shocked. Youtube refused to do anything about the channel there and I was expecting more of the same.
@AbandonedAmerica As a longtime fan of your posts and the podcast, this is really infuriating. I'm so sorry this happened. I've been lending my help to the anti-data center cause in my area. A LOT of people on both sides are rightfully upset. No working class person asked for A.I. It's insane. I hope you can find ways to continue telling these stories without your content being stolen.

Here's exhibit A: a "German" "guy" who somehow is releasing 3 entire text-based books in two weeks. His author photo and cover "art" are exactly the same AI style of the supposedly Scottish guy who started an Abandoned America channel on Youtube

If you have a registered trademark, doesn't Amazon accept that for flagging fakes?
I ask as someone who registered a trademark for that purpose but has never had to attempt that process
