as the term's reputation worsens, expect to see more and more LLM users insist that *their* usage isn't vibe coding, it's those other less skilled / less ethical programmers, over there, for whom the term exists.
@jplebreton apologists in my mentions constantly telling me that software is functional and not artistic expression, that nobody cares about whether AI produced software they just care "if it works", meanwhile commentators on YouTube who _very_ clearly have no idea how software is produced are starting to call anything that looks like buggy shovelware "vibe coded"
@jplebreton I really do not want to be on the side of "social consensus is always correct" when it very much isn't, but when all of society rapidly forms a *new* consensus about something, it's important to look at that and ask, why does everyone think this all of a sudden? what is motivating them to do so?
@jplebreton it's already super pervasive. Every slopmonger I ban from my repo (this is now daily) insists they are one of the good ones, not like those other bad ones that don't do proper quality control.
