Just finished the last major FediDB feature, software feature matrix.
You can now easily compare software ✨
Mastodon vs GotoSocial: https://fedidb.com/software/compare?software=mastodon,gotosocial
Misskey vs Sharkey vs Iceshrimp: https://fedidb.com/software/compare?software=misskey,sharkey,iceshrimp
Really great to have such comparisons in such detail. Nice work!
The first column of questions might also have a FEP id in greyscale between parentheses, where applicable, perhaps hyperlinked to to the FEP doc too.
@dansup @smallcircles Better remove them, the labels are all wrong
Wow, that is ultra-fast. Fabulous! 😍
@smallcircles It was really easy due to the polymorphic nature of the questions feature, I'm having a blast refactoring this!
@smallcircles Oh great idea! I will add support for that right now!
@dansup Hi Dan, thank you for all the work you do! I think there are some “unknowns” for GoToSocial in the comparison that can be filled.
⁃ Delete your own account = no
⁃ Verified profile links = yes
⁃ Drafts = no (client-side local auto-save)
⁃ Quote posts = no (only link to post)
⁃ Automatically delete old posts = no (https://codeberg.org/superseriousbusiness/gotosocial/issues/1442)
⁃ Upload animated GIFs = yes (https://docs.gotosocial.org/en/latest/user_guide/posts/)
⁃ Sensitive media = yes (included in post properties: https://docs.gotosocial.org/en/latest/api/swagger/ “statuses” part)
⁃ Local-only posts = yes (https://docs.gotosocial.org/en/latest/api/swagger/ “statuses” part)
(be aware I am not an expert, this is just one user experience, @gotosocial will know better;)
@kiitoskai @gotosocial Would you mind editing those answers? You can login with your fediverse account!
@dansup@mastodon.social Watch out as Iceshrimp is compared from the Iceshrimp.NET version, that is still in beta and I think far from OK for common use.
Iceshrimp.JS is their main version and has more functionalities than shown in the list.
@marud it goes by what they report in nodeinfo
@dansup nice! what about adding new software to the list?
@maddyunderstars You just need to submit a server that is running a software, then it will create the software listing, and you can edit it!
@dansup Thanks. Is it automatic? Yesterday I submitted `understars.dev` (and `chat.understars.dev`, in case it doesn't follow host-meta redirections) and I don't see any requests to my server

@dansup Great work!
