I wholeheartedly believe that every man should watch this video, because i bet none can grasp quite how terribly women get treated, even at work, without being challenged
@thisisjofrank:
“I gave a talk at EMF titled "Men in Tech #YesAllMen", in which I told my experience of being a woman in tech. I was afraid to publish it in case it affected my current or future employment.
With all the current news I would like to add my 2¢. So here is the recording:”

@NatGrayYes @thisisjofrank Finished, and this is excellent! I'm going to send it massively :D
And now people may wonder: "has this also happened to you?"
In many occasions, I was more lucky. In particular, I did meet excellent men who did not make me feel I did not belong the community.
But yes, some of these things did happen, and even others. And I'm pretty sure it's the same for any woman in tech.
About the part where a man walks back a woman to a hotel. I know some men are going to chose to read this wrong.
The issue is not walking back the woman to her hotel. Especially when it's at night and the city isn't safe. I was walked by men - with whom I felt safe - and I thank them again for that.
The part which is wrong is when the man wants to get in the room. No. Leave the woman at the hotel's door. We're here for work, not for romance as the speaker said.
@NatGrayYes @thisisjofrank only 100+ boosts is not enough.
Thank you Jo for the great talk.
To the men, you all think you're the good man, the one being better than the others... Silence says that you're not a good one, the good ones speak up even when it's uncomfortable to do so, even when it hurts your career a tiny bit to do so, even when it taints your chumminess with the guy you want to impress. Speak the fuck up, in the moment, call it out.
There are so few good men, sometimes I wonder if there's any... But it is possible to be one even if you've never found the courage or empathy before now.
@NatGrayYes @thisisjofrank I haven't finished watching it yet (I'm basically half way), but so far, I just _love_ it.
